HP and DepEd Launches A+ Write&Read Campaign for Pinoy Students

inspiring creativity in the PINOY youth, Hewlett Packard (HP) along with the Dept. of Education-NCR (DepEd-NCR) launched the A+ (Write&Read) campaign, which promotes academic excellence through HP's innovative imaging and printing technologies. 

“We look forward to this meaningful partnership with HP. Through Write&Read, we will be able to work hand in hand in enriching the learning experience of children and inspire a growing interest in writing and reading, two of the most important and fundamental skills in education,” said Dr. Milagros QuiƱones, English Supervisor, DepEd-NCR.

leveraging on the HP Ink Advantage printers, the A+ campaign is an HP advocacy to further enrich the youth's learning experience through affordable, reliable and high-quality prints for their school projects and requirements.

PHL Senate Approves Anti-Cybercrime Bill

after almost 3yrs, finally the Philippine Senate voted 13-1 in favor of the Anti-Cybercrime Bill(Senate Bill 2786 - Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), a step closer to make it a full-pledged law that would target internet-related crimes such as child-pornography, fraud, hacking, and cybersex.

Under the bill, cybercrime offenses would include the following:
A. Offenses against the confidentiality, intergrity and availability of computer data and systems (illegal access, illegal interception, data interence, system interference, cyber-squatting, misuse of devices)
B. Computer-related offenses (computer-related forgery, computer-related fraud)
C. Content-related offenses (cybersex, child pornography, unsolicited commercial communications or spamming, libel)

here are the penalties if found guilty:
- of the acts in A and B (imprisonment 6-12yrs or a fine of at least P200K)
- cyber-squatting (imprisonment or a fine of not more than P500k, or both)
- unsolicited commercial communication with arrest…

PNoy Launches 'Text Blast' System

Philippine President Benigno Aquino III (PNoy) recently launched the government's 'Text-Blast' system with the hope of boosting public service by systematically informing PINOYs of presidential declarations, disaster warnings, news advisories and other relevant information. 
"With this project we will be text mates of many of our countrymen as regards information they need to know,” the President Aquino said in his speech @ the Philippine Information Agency’s 25th anniversary.
